UPSC IAS Pre 2016 Cutoff Marks SC ST OBC GEN
UPSC has conducted an examination for selecting candidates with the extreme and ability to power over the post of District Magistrate the examination was conducted and a large no. of candidates have emerged with a bright hope and strong will to qualify the test and become the government servant, but the question arises what is the cut off gonna be when it comes to UPSC IAS exam so the UPSC uses the term minimum qualifying marks rather than cut off this minimum qualifying marks that the candidates have to score in order to become eligible for the proceeding selection criteria such as main exam followed by interview. The minimum qualifying marks technically speaking will be the mark of the last candidate (in the descending order of marks) who made it to the list, be it Mains list, Interview list or Final Rank list. With the latest research and our understandings we can say that the merit list of UPSC IAS exam depends on the no. of vacancies each year.Suppose there are 313 vacancies under OBC category this year, the mark of the last rank candidate in OBC category becomes the cut-off marks under OBC category. Hope my point is clear to you now it is a chain of proceeding years.
UPSC IAS Pre 2016 Cutoff Marks
The merit list or the Minimum qualifying marks will only depends upon the vacancies that prevails in particular category or community. As separate rank lists have been prepared by UPSC under all categories such as General Category, OBC, SC, ST etc and you have to make sure that you rank well within the number of vacancies listed in each category to be in the final rank list.
The focus point to be noted that there were no seats reserved for the general category candidates that means candidate from any category even other than general can fill the seat as there is no reservation for general category candidates but the seats that has been allotted to other reserved casts such as CS,ST or OBC no general category candidate can fill up these seats.
